Kinetic Typography

Kinetic Typography was an intense three-week workshop conducted by Dan Boyarski in the University of Madeira. He taught us the basics in time, motion, and communication, focusing specifically on using moving type to communicate with the audience.

10 seconds

Communicate sound and visual changes every second. I chose to be playful and show a sequence of events from cooking a healthy meal to eating something unhealthy.

3 voices

Animate type in three different voices, without using sound. I got the phrase "wait, what?" and chose to animate it in aggressive, despondent, and curious voices.

24 hours

Communicate an event, or concept that is related to the theme of 24 hours. I chose to make a piece on the events following Typhoon Haiyan, a devastating typhoon that struck the Philippines in 2013.
